it’s time to stop struggling with your pelvic health. you deserve expert care to address your concerns.

the cfpt experience is different - to its core

Why visit Core Foundations over another practice?

  1. You deserve specialized care. At many physical therapy clinics, pelvic health is an “add-on” to their orthopedic program. It is my main focus. I stay engaged and am always learning to bring the best, most evidence-based care to my patients to improve their pelvic health.

  2. Get treated in a peaceful environment. At CFPT, you get a calm, peaceful, and private clinic, not a busy, bustling open gym with a ton of patients.

  3. You will get all of your care from a Doctor of Physical Therapy. I will be with you, one-on-one, for your entire treatment session. There will be no shuffling off to an aide or exercising without direct supervision.

  4. You will get my dedicated attention. You will be the only patient in the clinic for your entire session, ensuring that I don’t have to split my attention between patients like at a lot of busy practices.

  5. As a solopreneur, I will personally consult with you on the phone before your first appointment to answer your questions and get you scheduled. You get my attention from your first encounter instead of going through a front office staff that isn’t sure how to answer questions related to pelvic health.

  6. No need for childcare. I provide a child friendly atmosphere to make your care more accessible to you. Have an infant? I can provide your with a portable crib. Toddler or preschooler? We have a small waiting area where they can be safe and play or watch a show while we work together.

  7. We will look at the whole picture. I firmly believe that all my patients are more than a pelvis, and often we have to look at different areas to get to the bottom of what is affecting your pelvic floor. You will get a thorough examination and evaluation, but it doesn’t end at the first visit. Every visit is a chance to learn and explore your movement patterns and how it might relate to what brought you to me in the first place. Pelvic rehab should be more than Kegels!

  8. Get back to the activities that matter to you. Have you been told that you shouldn’t run, lift weights, jump, etc… but you want to? I love running, CrossFit, lifting weights, and jumping on the trampoline! Let’s work together to figure out how to get you back to what you want to be doing in a way that is best for your body.

  9. Hands-on care. I believe in manual therapy, and believe it can help many people. You will receive a hands-on approach to your treatment. Unfortunately, some people who practice pelvic rehab think hooking a patient up to a biofeedback machine and leaving the room or laying on your back to do Kegels for weeks on end is enough. That might get you brief relief, but I want to help you find lasting relief.

  10. Creativity. I don’t like to give up on patients. I treat many complex patients and will keep fighting to figure out a way to help, even if you have “failed” other pelvic rehab programs. I will think outside of the box and I will be here for you!

What can I expect at my first appointment?

For your initial visit, plan on wearing athletic wear so that I may observe you move. We will start by talking. I want to hear your story, including what concerns bring you in to see me, and gather information to help me understand your background and what might be contributing to your symptoms.

After the interview, there will be a physical exam and evaluation. Internal vaginal or rectal assessment may be recommended but is always optional. After the exam, we will review everything, including our next steps and what you can do outside of our PT sessions.
